A Lifeline Named June
After decades of carrying the weight of others’ emotional burdens, retired Air Force Chaplain Patrick Genseal found support of his own in June, a trained service dog. June became a lifeline, helping Genseal carry the invisible weight of his service.
A Path Forward
When retired Army veteran Derrick Leon Dennis walks through Veterans Place in Pittsburgh, everyone calls him “Sarge.” For Sarge, transformation is proof that programs like Veterans Place work. “They become productive citizens in society,” he said. “They leave here with 100 percent hope.”
